Englisch Essay Kinder und Haustiere

Hi,

"A lot of people like to have a pet. Especially children wish often to get an animal for themselves. Many parents know the situation in which their junior stands begging looking in front of them and request for a fluffy companion. Of course it can have also own feathers or dandruff – it doesn’t matter. In the past the parents may also asked their own parents for a pet and in the future their children’s children will possibly do it likewise. Naturally this doesn’t affect to anyone, but the essay will not deal with those who don’t desire a pet. It will exclude assistance animals as well. It will also don’t look at the financial aspects. This is taken for granted. Furthermore the essay will focus on traditional house pets like dogs, cats and primarily different rodents such as rabbit und guinea pig, but this does not mean that it doesn’t apply other pets too. The resultant question is should it be allow to the children to get a pet?

As a matter of course the essay will consider both sides of the issue, the positive as well as the negative aspects. There are many advantages for the humans on keeping a pet. But whether how many benefits caring for a pet entail we should look on the interest of the animals just as well. Which mostly are opposed to the keeping of a pet, but should be respected in the same way. After considering both points of view the essay will summarize, take a conclusion and may find a compromise for the issue.

A lot of scientific publications deal with the psychological aspects coursed by the keeping. A pet can be friend, a comforter and a therapist at the same time. The interaction with pets enhances the social skills of the kids. As a pet owner you create a strong relationship with your animal companion and the pet becomes a high valued family member. Again children are affected the most. Though this attachment with the pet can the kid learn to be more tolerant, gentler and more patient. Pets don’t sham, it shows if you are good to him or not. Thereby the child adapt to a more sociable behaviournot to destroy the trust of his fluffy friend. Introverted or social secluded children are able to benefit from the bonding also in another way. Via caring for an animal they can increase self-confidence, self-esteem and self-reliance. A pet is always there. Moreover the animal is able to sense feelings and emotions. With their mere presence they can make you feel better. Therefore pets especially cats are used for therapeutic purposes. Dogs above all make the child to go off and move around. But there are not only the dogs who can do this. Rabbits and guinea-pigs love and need green fodder. The children have to go out at a meadow to collect grass, herbs and other meadow plants as well as twigs. In this way they can also learn a lot about the different kind of plants. This is in our technologised time a great plus.

As indicated above we must look on the interest of the pet too. Every animal have their own needs of housing condition, feeding and social interaction. Before getting an animal you should always inform yourself about it. In case of a small child have the parent the important duty to inform themselves and teach the child about the requirements. Even with teenagers the parents must also be informed about the pets needs. This should be discussed between the child and the parents. Did they understand all needs and can they fulfill them? Too often you hear from a child who own one rabbit and the parents don’t allow a second one. But rabbits are animals who live in a group which can’t be replace by humans or other animals. They need another rabbit as companion. This should be clear before buying single one. For small children it is hard to understand that they can’t stroke or hold their pet as often as they wish. Rodents have to get slowly use to the petting and nearly all of them don’t want to get pick up. Not all cats are cuddly. Even if they are often moody. The cats decide which time stroking is allowed. Otherwise they may scratch. You must first show and explain to the kid how to interact with the pet. There are duties which must be fulfilled. The child must understand which duties – how long and who often – come up with keeping a pet. A dog want to go out several hours a day more than once. Small child can’t do this alone. And is the teen willing to go out with their/its dog in the morning after a party? In Germany they shorten the schooldays for the matriculation standard by one year. Therefore the students have to learn more which leads to sitting till late afternoon with homework. Are the student willing to spend the free time which remain with the pet? Or even cleaning its manure? Are anyway enough time available? If you can’t fulfill the requirements the pet will suffer and may perish because of it. The most awful scenario is where the child totally lose the interest and the parent reluctant take care or the pet pushed off to the animal shelter. You may don’t like to think about abandon."

Vielen lieben Dank bereits schonmal im vorraus.
